webcamxp
webcamXP 2008 has been updated to version 4.10.075 beta
it integrates the following changes / fixes:
- audio broadcast settings not remembered upon restart
- software might not restart after exited without reboot on some systems
- change resolution in multiple cam view (remote) doesn't work in IE7
- remote admin unavailable in trial version
- updated dutch and portugese languages
- fixes ip camera template for toshiba ik-wb15a
- added ip camera templates support for 4XEM WLPTG and sparkLAN CAS-700
beside this the webcamxp.com website has been updated to ASP.NET in order to support multiple languages and the registered users area. the area is now working but most members features have not been activated yet.
french and english is already operational, portuguese will be in a few days and i'm now in need for the following translations for the website (~ 180 terms / short sentences) for the following languages:
- german
- dutch
- italian
- spanish
btw other languages are welcome as well and i'll provide free licenses to the translaters. just contact me through the webcamxp contact form...
update 06/03/2008
the http post feature is now available on webcamxp.com for registered users. what does that mean ?
if you want, you can push the alerts of the motion detector on www.webcamxp.com and consult them remotely. this works even if the computer cannot be accessed from the outside or in case the computer is being stolen you have at least the last captured pictures saved at another place...
update 07/03/2008
back with another new feature :)
in case you own a pocketPC (windows mobile 5.0 or 6.0) and you're using it to watch your webcamXP powered cams remotely, here's finally a true client for your favorite mobile device. It's build using the .net framework so you'll need .NET Compact Framework 2.0 installed on your device to use it.
download it from here: webcamXP.cab. once you have the file, copy it on your mobile device. browse to the .cab file and click on it to install it. It'll appear in the programs menu under the name "webcamXP Mobile". That's it, just type the url and you're done :)

webcamxp
hi all,
it's been hard for me to fiind time to update webcamXP after a job change, the army and a few other uplanned things but anyway i'm back with a new update.
i haven't added any new features however most of the existing issues on v4.xx beta have been fixed.
the german language and the french help have been added to this version and a new version of the ip camera filter (v3.02) is included.
the member area of webcamXP.com which will provide some additional online features for the registered users is nearly ready and will be added soon.
in the meantime here is :
webcamXP 2008 v4.05 beta
the performances and results of the motion detector even in higher resolutions should be much better than v4.01 beta even on slower computers...

webcamxp
It's been a while and i'm back with many many fixes!
i have received a lot of feedback
on webcamXP 4 beta which is very motivating and which proves that the software is still appreciated :)
thanks to all the nice people doing their best in helping me to improve it.
so here is the latest webcamXP 4.00.500 beta version and the list of changes:
directshow filter:
- directshow filter now works in Windows Media Encoder AND webcamXP (the latest beta was provided with a WME version causing memory troubles in webcamXP)
- reduced memory usage of network sources
webcamXP:
- fixed motion detector email / ftp alerts
- fixed uploading design through ftp
- added possibility to upload recorded movies through ftp
- internal server's html code has been cleaned and optimized, it now valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional on W3C.
- dynamic multiple views through internal server (select number of cams / size)
- fixed asf sources (linksys cams) might freeze
- fixed translater
btw now that the translater is fixed and english + french languages are up-to-date, i'm in need for the updates of the other languages.
as usual, i'll provide a PRO license for anybody who can create a new language template or update the following :
- german
- italian
- dutch
- spanish
updating the existing languages (are in langoutdated folder must be moved in lang before running the translator tool) should be done quite quickly as there are maybe 50-70 new terms to translate to be up-to-date with version 4.0.
please download and test using this link webcamXP 4.00.500 beta.
beside this, softpedia's review team have written a very nice article on webcamXP :

just to avoid duplicate work on the translations i have requested, here's the status :
- polski : ok
- dutch : ok
- portuguese : ok
if you intend to translate a language, please notify me so i can update this topic. once notified please provide the file within 4 days (shouldn't take more than 2-3 hours for a complete translation and less than 1 hour for an update)
