aloha dear webcamxp addicts :)
as i now have an ip camera to do some tests i've been able to continue improving a lot the stream from network feature that still had some problems and it seems much better in the version i'm testing now ^^
i've also been improving the error managment of the ftp and http post features and fixed several things instead of simply trapping the exceptions and so far this new beta version seems much better to me but i need your thoughs about it.
for this reason here is webcamXP 2.16.450 beta
something else i also had to add was the possibility to use the http post methods on secure servers (https://). it's now possible but only if you add the 2 dlls for openssl in your webcamXP folder, as ssl encryption > 128-bit isn't legal in every country i can't bundle those dlls directly with the software but you can download them from here : fulgan (switzerland server)

how-to use d-link wireless ip cameras with webcamXP...
as i'm receiving many requests on how to use those d-link ip cams with webcamXP, i had to purchase one myself to give it a try and here is the solution, you have to type this into the stream from network dialog :
http://[IP Address]/cgi-bin/video.jpg
now that i've implemented the authentication for this feature you can access the stream even if you password protect the internal server of the ip cam.
this works for sure with DCS-2100 and surely also with DCS-5300 and all the other ip cams using the same operating system.

i'm just back from my few days at the caprices festival in the switzerland mountains...
the main reason i was there is because i've developped for them a huge online staff managment database system and the whole access passes printing system which worked fine (btw there were a few problems but they weren't due to to my software or the database in any way so i'm quite happy of the results).
i'll shortly prepare a section about this whole staff managment and printing system under softwares in case any other festival or organization is interested in using it (and inviting me and my friends to spend a few days there as it was the case ^^).

here's another webcamXP update which should fix the reported problems that seemed the most important and add a few enhancements :
- mime format in email alerts
- interface was sometime freezing when trying to minimize
- minimize was remaining in taskbar
- standard menu for floating windows with all options like connect / disconnect / etc...
- stream from network supports authentication
hmm those are the only modifications i can remember but there surely were a few others ^^
test it here : webcamXP 2.15.420
ps : as i had to save many new values into the settings files this version is unfortunately not compatible with your existing settings so they will be lost if installed over a previous version...
